It all started in 2003, when businessman Pablo Martínez-Sarch, born in Dénia, discovered the Vall d'Alcala and fell in love with its peace and solitude and its clean and star-studded sky. He and his partner, Gemma Giner, bought a manor house in the heart of Alcala de la Jovada, with the idea of opening a small charming hotel. Later they bought a second house. And finally a third.
On those three houses, the couple built what is now the Rural House Hotel Font d'Alcalà, named after the fountain dedicated to Al-Arzaq that flows at its feet. Although the whole building is new, the hotel was built complying with the traditional architecture of the area and using noble and often recycled materials. Both the rooms and the common spaces have been decorated with simplicity and a genuine rustic elegance, conferring them a great feeling of warmth.
At the back of the hotel, open to the sky but sheltered from the outside by walls covered with vegetation, lies the backyard, our secret corner for warm autumn afternoons, green spring evenings and pleasant summer nights. Can you imagine a romantic dinner in this small oasis, toasting in the moonlight and enjoying a wonderful temperature also in summer?
